Retreat, Relax or Set Out for Adventure

Onsite Activities

When you arrive, you and your family will be greeted by 4 large dinosaur statues. We hope to spark your interest in the ancient dinosaur footprints discovered years ago on the Comanche National Grasslands, located 1-1/2 hours from our grounds! Today, these footprints form one of the largest documented dinosaur trackways in North America, with over 1300 visible tracks.

Once you’re settled in, we invite you to relax at our grand old log-cabin clubhouse with a hand-crafted fireplace, and comfortable furniture. Our in-house kitchenette is a perfect food prep area for gatherings. Highlighted in the center of our grounds, you’ll find a huge outdoor event center, where you, your friends and family can fire up the grill and picnic in the open air, or under our covered pavilion. Pets have their own gathering spot for frolicking at our off-leash doggie park!

Offsite Activities

Sundance is a 30-minute drive from three iconic historical forts in the area: Bent’s Old Fort, Bent’s New Fort and Old Fort in Lion. And, just 20 minutes away from our grounds, water lovers can enjoy fishing, boating and cliff jumping at Two Buttes Reservoir, as well as Colorado State Park’s John Martin Reservoir, where water skiing is also enjoyed.

And, be sure not to miss Picket Wire Canyon, along with the Sand and Sage Rodeo that takes place in August. People also come from far and wide to participate in Lamar’s High Plains Snow Goose Festival.
